Maintaining your BPS Competence in Testing

The British Psychological Society (BPS) & The Psychological Testing Centre (PTC)

The Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU) is the official record of all test users who have been awarded qualifications in educational, forensic or occupational test use by the British Psychological Society. Register members agree to abide by the Code of Good Practice in Psychological Testing and to maintain their competence in testing.

BPS Competence in Testing

Once you have BPS Verified Qualifications in Test Use and have registered with them, you can renew your listing annually for a period of 6 years.

After 5 years, the Psychological Testing Centre (PTC) will contact those still on the Register to remind them that they have 1 year in which to gather the evidence required to show that they have maintained their level of competence in testing and revalidate their qualification.

How do I re-register if I have allowed my entry to lapse?

If you have let your entry onto the Register lapse, you will need to re-affirm your competence before the BPS will re-instate your entry.

Quest Partnership Ltd is verified to provide training for individuals to re-affirm their competence, we provide this service via a Distance Learning course which is also accredited by the CPD Standards Office with an award of 15 hours.

BPS Competence in Testing. There is a charge for the re-affirmation process and the BPS will also charge an administration fee.
